How do you make the perfect banana bread? No seriously, I want to know because no matter how hard I try or what I do, it always comes out drier than I’d like it to. Banana bread is a great addition to any present, it’s great to bring to pot-lucks or a party. It’s easy to transport and relatively easy to make. That’s why I’ve been getting so annoyed that my banana bread is coming out less than perfect. Maybe it’s the recipe I follow, but I didn’t think there was that many varying recipes for banana bread.
This is the recipe I usually follow. It comes from All Recipes with a little tweak. You can access it, (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/banana-banana-bread/). The recipe calls for:
- -2 cups of all-purpose flour
- -1 teaspoon baking soda
- -1/4 teaspoon salt
- -1/2 cup butter
- -3/4 cup brown sugar
- -2 eggs, beaten
- -2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas
- -Cook at 350 degrees for an hour and five minutes.
So as I previously stated, I’ve used this recipe over and over again and sometimes it comes out good, others OK, and sometimes extremely dry. This is what I’ve tried to do in the past:
- -1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
- -add cinnamon…lots of cinnamon
- -forget the salt
- -3 bananas
- -chocolate chips when I’m feeling daring
- -cook it for 50-55 minutes
What suggestions do you have to make banana bread moist?
